Laurie C.
Breitner has worked in, corporate management, consulting and
education since 1977 in a wide range of settings. She has
helped clients in insurance, financial services,
pharmaceuticals, shipping, manufacturing, retail, education,
the arts, community service and advocacy.
Laurie founded
Breitner & Associates, to help organizations work more
effectively and successfully. Since 1991, clients have
benefited from her unique ability to provide long-term
perspective and planning as well as implement tactical
solutions to complex business problems.
To complement
her skills and experience, Laurie has built a network of
associates with whom she forms alliances to ensure that her
clients get the support they need to prosper. Laurie and her
associates are committed to delivering excellent service and
promoting social responsibility.
In 1985, Laurie
earned an MBA with honors from the University of
Massachusetts, where in 1973 she received a BA in Psychology
cum laude and in 1977 was awarded an M.Ed. This distinctive
educational background coupled with her broad-based business
experience enables Laurie to provide clients with a
multi-discipline perspective to problem solving.
When she's not
hard at work on behalf of her clients, Laurie is often seen
with her husband, Lew Breitner, pedaling through the hill
towns of Western Massachusetts. An avid cyclist, Laurie has
completed three AIDS Rides and raised more than $12,000 to
support AIDS research and treatment. She authored a series of
scenic loop rides to help promote area bike tourism.
Laurie and Lew,
who is a clinical psychologist, have three children.
Her older son Tyler lives in
Greenfield, MA; his business, Bowden Painting serves the
Pioneer Valley with painting and home improvement services; he
also owns and manages residential rental property. Her
daughter Barbara lives in Gloucester, MA with her husband and
daughter. Barbara heads the Science Department and passes on
her love of science in general and marine life in particular
to her high school students in Rockport, MA. Laurie’s younger
son Joshua puts his degree in Environmental Resources
Management to good use in Eugene, OR as Kitchen Manager on an
organic farm developing, producing and marketing products.
Laurie is a
member of the
Hilltown CDC Board of Directors and serves on
the
Advisory Board of the Springfield Business Incubator at STCC.
